If you’ve ever dreamed of calling Disney home, your opportunity has arrived. Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney community, is officially open for business.
It’s not in Orlando, Florida, or Anaheim, California, but actually in Rancho Mirage, California — part of the Greater Palm Springs area. Upon completion, the neighborhood is expected to have more than 1,900 homes, according to SFGate.

Life at Cotino
It’s a Disney community, but you won’t find houses shaped like magic castles or bushes trimmed in the shape of mouse ears at Cotino. Instead, you’ll find subtle touches inspired by Disney animation and theme parks, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
Cotino is located in the desert, but Disney worked its magic to give residents a waterfront community. The crown jewel of the development is Cotino Bay, a 24-acre man-made lagoon, according to WDW Magazine.
The community also has three parks, complete with quiet nods to Disney, according to Cotino. This includes an equestrian-themed dog park, Little Desert Park — a tribute to Walt Disney’s love of animals — and Longtable Park, offered exclusively to residents of the 55-plus portion of the community.
Also in the works is a town center, which will be located at the edge of the community. Plans include a hotel, open-air market and shopping, dining and entertainment venues.

Cotino Housing Costs
As you might expect, living in a Disney community isn’t cheap. Specifically, houses currently listed on the Cotino website range in price from $1.34 million to $3.2 million.
The cheapest price listed — The Patina — is a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath home spanning 1,666 square feet. The Westwind II — the most expensive model currently listed — is 4,485 square feet, with three to six bedrooms, three to six bathrooms and two half-baths.
There are also a variety of 55-plus homes listed, but prices aren’t noted on the website.
Artisan Club Fees
Living in the Cotino community comes with the option to join the posh Artisan Club. Some of the amenities include a beachfront clubhouse, with fitness center, pool, restaurant, beach bar and more, access to the Parr House venue and event space, members-only beaches, pickleball and tennis courts and a wide variety of programs.
As you might expect, joining the Artisan Club isn’t cheap. Membership is offered at two levels: Artisan Club Resident Membership and Artisan Club Extended Membership.
The Artisan Club Resident Membership has a one-time initiation fee of $20,000 plus tax, annual dues of $11,000 plus tax and an annual food and beverage minimum of $1,000 plus tax. Even pricier, the Artisan Club Extended Membership also has a $20,000 plus tax initiation fee, but annual dues are $19,000 plus tax and the annual food and beverage minimum is $2,000 plus tax.
