Here's how Belfast shopping centres will operate as new retail lockdown restrictions are introduced

The latest two-week Covid-19 restrictions kick in from November 27, with just 28 days to go before Christmas.

The news means some businesses will be allowed to remain open and others will be forced to shut their doors, including all non-essential retail outlets.

The move marks a change from the previous restrictions which have been in place since last month.

Now all  hospitality businesses - likes bars and restaurants - are banned from opening, but many shops will be permitted to open.

And just as Christmas shoppers hoped to be hitting the stories, the new rules will have an impact on how Belfast shopping centres will operate.

Here's all you need to know about how each shopping centre will operate in the coming weeks:

Castlecourt

Castlecourt will be open 9am – 9pm Mon 23rd – Thurs 26th.

From Friday 27, it will be open for Essential retailers only.

This will include Argos (the only one in the city centre now) Superdrug, Holland and Barrett, Poundland, Semi Chem, Boots, Halifax and potentially a couple of others.

Park Centre

The Park Centre currently has it's retail shops open until November 27. After this, non-essential retail outlets will be shut from November 27-December 11, while essential retail outlets such as the pharmacy and Iceland will remain open.

Connswater

Connswater's retail shops are also open to the public until November 27. From this date, until December 11, all non-essential retail outlets will be close, as will the food court, while Range and Poundland will remain open.

Victoria Square

Victoria Square shops are currently open, but all shops will be closed from November 27-December 11.

Kennedy Centre

Kennedy Centre's shops are open now, but will shut from November 27-December 11. However, essential retail shops such as Sainsbury's, Iceland, Home Bargains and Poundland are set to remain open.

Forestside

Forestside's shops are opening now, until November 27. After this date, all non-essential retail outlets will be closed, while shops like Sainsbury's, Marks & Spencer and pharmacies, will remain open.

Abbey Centre

Abbey Centre shops are currently open until November 27. After this date, shops such as Poundland and pharmacies will remain open, as will non-dispensing, financial and health services. They will each operate their own trading hours.
