Further to Michelle Bachelet’s excellent article about women fixing politics (This mammoth year of elections has shown how badly global politics is neglecting women, 6 December), I have often thought that, for equality, each constituency should elect two MPs: one male, one female. With that method, the differing ways of thinking can be covered. However, in the long run what is needed is a total change in our political systems to prevent the plutocracies we now have.
