Here is what’s inside one of the £30 Morrisons essential food boxes

Last week Morrisons unveiled its new food box scheme, allowing shoppers to buy a £30 box of essentials for delivery.

They offer two types, one for meat eaters and one for vegetarians, the only catch is you don’t know what you’re going to get inside when it arrives at your door.

Each box is different and what you get inside depends on stock and availability at the store who makes it up for you.

Up until now the boxes have been something of a mystery, with shoppers questioning whether what you get inside is worth the £30 price tag.

One customer has spilled the beans, revealing what he found inside his essentials box and the results look pretty good. The contents included things like steak mince, chicken breasts, pasta and even toilet roll!

This is an example of a meat-eater box, there is also a vegetarian version, but you don't know what will be inside (Stoke-On-Trent Live)

According to Stoke-On-Trent Live, the box contained a thank you note from Morrisons and was divided in chilled and non-chilled sections, with ice packs and wool packaging to keep the chilled food cold.

•   A tin of Branston baked beans 

•   A can of Morrisons tomato soup 

•   A can of Morrisons vegetable soup 

•   A bottle of Cravendale extended-life milk 

•   A packet of Morrisons long grain rice 

•   A pack of Morrisons unsalted butter

•   10 rashers of Morrisons unsmoked back bacon  
•   A pack of steak mince  
•   3 large onions  
•   A pack of carrots 

•   6 Morrisons The Best sausages

•   3 large peppers  

•   A Pack of Cathedral City mature cheddar  

•   A pack of chicken breast fillets 

•   A head of broccoli  
•   4 slices of cooked ham   
•   A pack of Savers penne pasta   

•   A bag of new potatoes 

Plus:

• 4 shea butter toilet rolls 
• 2 kitchen towel rolls

According to the shopper, "everything was sensible, practical and had a good shelf [life]. It was the sort of food I'd have chosen myself and it felt good value."
