Here are the roads that are closed following the serious incident in Sandiacre

Four roads have been closed and a diversion is in place after a serious incident in Sandiacre.

The incident happened in Derby Road at around 9.15am on Wednesday (April 17).

The Red Lion and White Lion pubs, which are around 120 metres apart, have been cordoned off by police.

There is a lorry within the cordon in the Red Lion pub car park.

Numerous roads have also been closed, taking in much of the town centre, while police conduct an investigation in the area.

The main roads affected are King Edward Street, Derby Road to the junction with Town Street and Longmoor Street.

Bostocks Lane, at its junction with Derby Road near to the M1, has also been closed off by police.

Shops inside the cordon include Bowler's family butcher, Spa Diamond, John and Boyd Barbers, Treetops Hospice, the Co-Op and the old Post Office.

Derbyshire Police said: "Traffic diversions are currently in place via Town Street and Stapleford. Please find alternative routes and avoid the area where possible."

There is a heavy police presence at the scene and blue tents have been erected while police officers investigate.
