Christmas Eve boxes are becoming increasingly popular in the UK.

A traditional that unsurprisingly started in the USA, the Christmas Eve festive box is packed with goodies for them to open before they head to bed.

Most pack them with pyjamas, activity packs, treats and other little bits to get them in the spirit.

There are plenty of stores which have noticed that parents want to make them as special as possible.

Here are our pick of the best and most affordable ones you can get on the high street with some online bargains too.

Matalan

This box is £10, but there are some even cheaper alternatives in store or on the website (Matalan)

Our favourite high street pick at the moment has to be Matalan.

If you visit their website, the store even has a "how to" guide of what to pack into the boxezs.

The chain suggest, pyjamas, slippers and socks, toys, a note to Father Christmas, treats for Rudolph, a cosy blanket, treats, a Christmas film or book and a candle.

The store has countless boxes to choose from, with plenty of crafts to make your own personalised one (Hobbycraft)

Hobbycraft is known for it's extensive bits and bobs for kids to craft and make their own.

The store has sturdy wooden boxes as little as £6.50 which they can even colour in and paint once they open them!

Also, some of their cheaper options include 2 for £5 versions which you can pack with their goodies.

Argos

The high street favourite has some great varieties for a Christmas Eve box- with there bestseller currently being on offer for just £9 , it's a worthy bargain.

The store encourages parents to help create the perfect box with their kids and get their imagination running wild with a box they can decorate themselves.

The Christmas box craze is well and truly underway at Etsy.

The vintage and handmade marketplace is a favourite for shoppers at this time of year, although some are a little pricier.

This box (above) is just £9.95, and can be packed to the brim with gifts for their little faces to light up on Christmas Eve.

Etsy is a great choice for those more rustic looking boxes that parents could use again, with them ranging mostly between £10-£30.
