I guess this is a Fortnite tradition at this point, so we shouldn’t exactly be surprised that they’re showing up again. Most people expected these as soon as we realized that there would be an extra two weeks at the end of Season 9 here, even if they also showed up in the standard-length Season 8. But Overtime challenges are making their way back to Fortnite here in Season 9, which dataminers were able to pull out of the game files with the new update this morning.
Prolific dataminer Lucas7Yoshi was able to get the full list this morning:

As usual, the overtime challenges are pretty straightforward, and many of the rewards involve unlocking new style variants for the battle pass skins. I’m particularly interested in a gray-bearded version of Bunker Jonesy, mostly because it’s a little less like a banana and that’s just better for all involved. Wh en these showed up in Season 7 they came along with a free battle pass for anyone that completed them, but it once again looks like that will not be the case. This time, however, you can get a massive drop of 15,000 XP, which should be handy for finishing up those style challenges that you’ve been working on all season. Or many seasons, as the case may be.
But those aren’t the only challenges that got leaked! Nope, we’ve also got some Birthday challenges to celebrate Fortnite’s second anniversary, just like we had last year with the first. These are essentially the same as last year, with the central challenge involving dancing around Birthday cakes and then a few more in the mix to unlock a pickaxe. Here are those:

So there should be plenty to chew on as we wait for Season 10, which we’ll start moving towards once the giant robot fight kicks off act 3 of this season this weekend. As usual, there’s just a ton going on in the game, so fans of free cosmetics should still have plenty of ways to entertain themselves even if they’re not completing weekly challenges and finding Fortbytes.
