Here are Bryce Callahan’s contract details with Broncos

We now know the details of cornerback Bryce Callahan’s three-year contract with the Denver Broncos.

Callahan received a $4 million signing bonus (which will be prorated over three years) and he will earn another $3 million in 2019 if he makes the 53-man roster, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

If he stays healthy and plays out his entire three-year contract in Denver, Callahan will be paid $7 million per season. He won’t have a $7 million salary cap hit each season, though.

This year, Callahan will have a salary cap hit of $4,239,583, according to Spotrac.com. His salary cap total will nearly double in 2020 when he will count $8,333,333 against the team’s cap. In 2021, his salary cap hit will be $8,333,334.

After signing Kareem Jackson, Ja’Wuan James, Jeff Heuerman, Zach Kerr, Case Kreiter and Callahan, the Broncos have $15,109,567 in remaining salary cap space, according to totals from the NFL Players Association.

Though the team still has cap space available, Denver may not be rushing to use it. The Broncos did not use $8,006,116 of their 2018 cap.
