Here Are All The Leaked Skins And Cosmetics In Fortnite's 8.10 Patch

Fortnite is craftier than it once was: we used to get a massive list of new skins and cosmetics every time a new patch came out, but things started to slim down sometime in season 6 when Epic started encrypting the really good stuff. We still do see new skins and such, don’t get me wrong, it’s more that big drops of wild new looks tend to come out of nowhere, which is how Epic wants it. But we still do get a moderate preview of what we’re going to see over the next two weeks or so, and the datamining community is here to provide it. Let’s take a look at the leaked skins and cosmetics in Fortnite’s update 8.10:

Fortnite

We have three sets of skins here: some more Ninja-style characters, some futuristic warriors, and some sunny summer-type characters to go with the tropical theme. The last of which contains Laguna, who comes along as part of a starter pack that also includes a back bling and a wrap. For some reason, those are also my favorite: they’re not nearly as flashy as those other ones, but there’s something pleasing about the relative simplicity of teal body armor and a sun hat.

On to the pickaxes. I tend to prefer the silly pickaxes over the serious ones, and there’s really one of those in this set: “Stumpy”, which is just a log on a stick. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! The rest are pretty straightforward, going for the clean, menacing lines we associate with those ninja and futuristic sets. The little star wand isn’t so bad, but I feel like we’ve seen betters kins on a similar tack.

Fortnite

Things get a little more interesting with the back blings. We’ve got the ninja and sci-fi sets, like we might expect, but I’m also in love with the pineapple ukulele that comes along with Laguna. I would use that for my banana man before I’d use the banana backpack that appears to be tailored to him, I think, but I usually prefer to mix and match. It’s that jeweled llama that’s particularly interesting, however: we can recognize that from the summer’s “high stakes” event, and there are some other indicators that we might be getting a repeat performance of that popular event below.

And here we have our emotes. The drum major one is natural to the point where I’m surprised we haven’t seen one yet, but it’s the “raining doubloons” emote that catches my eye. It has a “latter days of the empire” feel to it, where Epic is releasing the exact same emote we’ve seen before, just with a different type of currency. I’ll buy it.

Fortnite

The lone glider in the mix. It’s fine, nothing too much to write home about. There are a ton of Fortnite cosmetics out there, and we’re running into a bit of a problem where even if we’re getting something new it can look like something we’ve seen before.

Here we have two groups of wraps: magma and pineapple, which are both part of the current season’s theme, and then those card suit-themed wraps. Those are another indication that high stakes will be returning: the event’s signature skin featured suit-themed variants that looked a lot like that, and it seems like Epic is giving us the opportunity to complete out looks with some themed wraps.
