Here Are All The Free PlayStation Plus Games For October (2018)

Friday the 13th headlines October’s free PlayStation Plus games.

Is it just me, or is time speeding up? I swear September just started and yet somehow it’s already almost over. Sunday is the last day of September, and Monday we barrel headlong into October.

Fall begins in earnest and with it, a new batch of free PlayStation Plus games for subscribers.

(See which games you can still download for free in September here.)

You’d be right if you guessed that some of these new PS+ games are a little spookier than usual. This is, after all, the month of jack-o-lanterns, witches and their bubbling cauldrons, and Halloween candy.

So it’s no surprise that the game headlining October’s PS Plus releases is none other than Friday the 13th, a co-op PvP game based on the classic Jason Voorhees horror movies. It’s an asymmetrical PvP game where a group of up to 7 camp counselors try to escape from the killer, played by an eighth player.

Here are all the games coming to PlayStation Plus in October, which should go live next Wednesday:

PS4

PS3

  • Master Reboot
  • The Bridge (Cross Buy with PS4 and PS Vita)

PS Vita

  • Rocketbirds 2: Evolution (Cross Buy with PS4)
  • 2064 Read Only Memories (Cross Buy with PS4)

This is another month where I’ve basically never played any of these. I’ve been meaning to try out Friday the 13th, despite its mediocre reviews, but haven’t wanted to bother paying for it so I’m glad it’s free and I can give it a shot. I’ve heard it’s quite buggy but still fun.

Laser League

Laser League sounds really fun. Basically another entry in the “future sports” genre with a Tron-like art style. Two teams compete in a techno-arena, with the official description reading: “Vaporize the opposition in the light-speed future of sport. An all new multiplayer experience – easy to pick up, but near impossible to put down, Laser League starts as a simple test of your reflexes, but soon becomes a strategic showdown with deep team tactics.”

Sounds fun.

In any case, if you’re still playing on a Vita or PS3 there are some free games I’ve never played coming to those platforms as well; I admit, these just feel incredibly pointless this late into the PS4′s lifecycle and this long after PS3′s heyday. The PS Vita is slowly and quietly being put to pasture as well. The PS4 games are the only ones that add true value to a PS+ membership at this point.
