Hep-Dasch-lon! Katarina Johnson-Thompson competes in ‘home heptathlon' with her two pet dachshunds

Katarina Johnson-Thompson clearly misses competing in the heptathlon so much that she’s roped in her two pets dogs for a stay-at-home competition.

Team GB’s world champion underwent a ‘home heptathlon’ alongside her two pet daschshunds, Chorizo and Bronx, in a video she posted on her official Twitter account.

"Hopefully not the only heptathlon I’ll be doing this year," the 27-year-old tweeted. "Had a lot of fun filming this!"

The video begins with Katarina, Chorizo and Bronx competing in the 100m hurdles, before the trio take on the high jump.

Next up was the shot put, before they headed outside for the 200m. The long jump came next, with KJT recording an impressive, albeit questionable measurement of 7m, before the javelin event – in the form of paper aeroplane-throwing took centre stage.

The final event was, of course, the 800m with BBC commentator Steve Cram tipping Chorizo to be the ‘pace maker’.
