Henry Slade dreaming of Lions call-up and does not mind where tour is played

England star Henry Slade is dreaming of a Lions call-up to cap the best year of his life - and says he does not care where the tour is played.

Slade ended 2020 as a winner of four major club and international trophies - as well as a first-time father.

Next on his to-do list is becoming a Lion, but this summer’s tour is in doubt due to the global pandemic, with talk of it being switched from South Africa to the UK to save it from cancellation.

Slade, who lines up for Exeter in today’s top-of-the-table Premiership clash against Bristol, said: “I've never been on a Lions tour and it is every players' dream to make one.

“Playing it over here would be a bit odd and feel a bit strange. But if I get picked for the Lions, which I am trying my best to do, I wouldn't care where it is.”

Slade is one of four England stars recalled by Chiefs, along with Luke Cowan-Dickie, Harry Williams and Jonny Hill.
