Henry Ruggs III begged police to 'get me the f*** out' of hospital after fatal crash

NFL star Henry Ruggs III screamed at police and medical staff in hospital, begging them to "get me the f*** out of here" while officers tried to investigate his involvement in a 127mph crash which killed a young woman and her dog.

Wide receiver Ruggs, 22, was treated at a Las Vegas hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after the crash which happened at around 3.40am on Tuesday.

A police report alleges the football star was driving his Corvette at 156mph in the moments before the smash, and was moving at 127mph when he ploughed into the Toyota Rav4 being driven by 23-year-old Tina Tintor.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, after her car burst into flames.

That police report, obtained by local news outlet 8NewsNow Las Vegas, reads: "Ruggs began to yell, 'get me the f*** out of here'. Ruggs continued to yell from his bed and refused to listen to hospital staff."

He was charged and made his first appearance at Las Vegas Justice Court on Wednesday, wearing a neck brace and a face covering and moving with the aid of a wheelchair.

The 22-year-old was not asked to enter a plea, and bail was set at $150,000 with restrictions stating he must stay at home at all times, must not drive, must not consume alcohol and must wear an electronic monitoring tag.

Ruggs had been a 12th overall pick at last year's NFL Draft, signing a $16million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders after starring for the University of Alabama.

Just a few hours before that first court appearance, the Raiders released a statement confirming that they had released him.

If found guilty, Ruggs faces a lengthy jail sentence as probation is not an option for a charge of DUI causing death in the state of Nevada.

That charge carries a sentence of between two and 20 years in prison.
