The British actor is known for his portrayal of Charles Brandon in Showtime's The Tudors (2007–2010), DC Comics character Superman in the DC Extended Universe as well as Sherlock Holmes in the Netflix film Enola Holmes (2020).
The 38-year-old began with roles in the feature adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) and I Capture the Castle (2003). He later portrayed supporting roles in several television series, including BBC's The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, ITV's Midsomer Murders, and Showtime's The Tudors.

Netflix have confirmed a launch date for new episodes of The Witcher.
Along with a poster and a teaser trailer that featured Geralt of Rivia and Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Netflix's first-ever WitcherCon – an event for fans of the games, comics, TV series and anime film Nightmare of the Wolf – announced that the release date is December 17, 2021.
