Moises Henriques continued the fine form of allrounders at the start of the Sheffield Shield season, scoring a half-century for NSW against Western Australia.
Playing at No.4 and with his team teetering after the loss of three wickets before lunch, Henriques (59) batted through to tea as the Blues consolidated to 3-141.
Henriques blasted three quick boundaries and looked in nice touch before easing off in the middle session to steady the ship for the title holders.
Daniel Solway (22) was the other not out batsman as the runs dried up for the Blues but wickets remained intact.

Henriques joined fellow allrounders Michael Neser (Qld) and Ashton Agar (WA) in great season starts, the latter pair picking up centuries and five-wicket hauls in the opening week of matches.
After being asked to bat at Adelaide's Gladys Elphick Park, the Blues moved to 0-54 before Nick Larkin (34) and Kurtis Patterson (1) both holed out to the only men in the outfield.
When Daniel Hughes (23) was out edging to second slip off the bowling of Aaron Hardie (1-8), the Blues had slipped to 3-71.
But Henriques and Solway combined for an unbeaten 70-run stand to give the Blues a slight edge going into the final session of the day.
Liam Guthrie (1-31) and Cameron Gannon (1-51) were the other wicket takers.
