Henrik Larsson returns to Helsingborg as Celtic legend takes over as manager

Henrik Larsson has returned to Helsingborg as manager - three years after getting relegated while their boss last time.

The Celtic legend was linked with a return to Celtic Park as a coach under Neil Lennon, but he's decided to head back to Sweden and take charge of another of his old clubs.

As well as scoring 50 goals in 56 games as a player for the Swedish outfit, he also managed them for two seasons in 2015 and 2016.

But his time came to a bad end as they were relegated from the top flight and Larsson was even attacked on the pitch after the play-off defeat.

That hasn't put him off returning again though as he joins the club on a contract until the end of the season at least.

He joins a Helsingborg side that are once again struggling in the top flight after earning promotion last year. They currently sit 14th in the relegation play-off spot, just two points ahead of Falkenberg below them.

Their current squad includes Hoops midfielder Kundai Benyu who is on loan, while former Sweden captain Andreas Granqvist is also there.
