Henrik Larsson 'in the frame' for Celtic return as Neil Lennon eyes legend for coaching role

Henrik Larsson is in the frame for a sensational return to Celtic - according to a report.

Neil Lennon is believed to be looking to add another member to his coaching staff and could turn to the Parkhead icon.

The pair are close pals from their time as Hoops team-mates and, according to The Scottish Sun , the Swede is on a shortlist to join his mate in the dugout.

Johan Mjallby, who served as coach under Lennon during his first stint, is also said to be an option.

The Irishman's backroom team already consists of John Kennedy, Damien Duff and goalkeeping coach Stevie Woods.

A Celtic return for Larsson would certainly capture the imagination of fans as the club push for nine-in-a-row next season.

It's said he and Lennon have met several times over the past few months at social events.

Meanwhile, Celtic have had a £2million bid knocked back for David Turnbull .

The Motherwell star was also the subject of an offer from Barnsley but both sides have been rebuffed in their opening attempt to prise him away from Fir Park.

The Premiership champions must now decide whether to return with an improved package.

Motherwell value Turnbull at around £3million and are not prepared to sell their prize asset on the cheap.
