Henrik Larsson in epic Celtic throwback as he sends son poignant message

Sentimental Henrik Larsson has warmed the hearts of Celtic fans by posting a throwback picture of him and his son from his iconic Parkhead stay.

The striker had taken to the social media platform Instagram to wish footballer son Jordan a happy 22nd birthday.

The picture shows father and son in full kits ahead of the Swede's testimonial game in 2004.

Larrson senior grabbed 242 goals in a trophy-laden seven year spell in Paradise and is widely regarded as the greatest modern day player to pull on the Hoops.

Jordan has forged his own path and has performed well for Spartak Moscow since a £4m move last August.

Like his dad he started out at Helsingborgs before moving to Dutch football with NEC.

That turned sour and he returned to Sweden with Norrköping where his potential suddenly seemed to come together and his form won him a big money move to Russia.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given his lineage, he has frequently linked with moves to Celtic.

The three times capped striker was even linked with Rangers, a move Larsson himself shot down rather emphatically on Twitter.

He simply wrote: "Me? Signing for them? Are you having a laugh?"
