Henri Saivet told to return to Newcastle United after Bursaspor are relegated

Newcastle United are understood to have told Henri Saivet to report back to pre-season training on July 4.

Saivet, who is still contracted to United for another two years and picks up £32,000 per week, has spent the last 10 months at Bursaspor in Turkey.

Saivet made 29 appearances for Bursaspor and scored two goals but the club slipped out of the Turkish Super Lig and the relegated club will not take up an option to sign Saivet.

Speaking about his qualities last year, Saivet said: "It is always difficult for a person to talk about himself.

"But I think I’m a team player, and I can also say I’m a technical player.

"I always try to move my team to the top."

Also set to return to United are Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar and Jack Colback who are all still under contract.

But the likelihood is all four could start life back at the club in the reserves under the watch of new second string boss Neil Redfearn.

Should Rafa Benitez stay on as manager he will look to offload the majority of returning loanees but by the same token there are some players watching with interest to see if a new boss comes and gives them a second chance.
