Hengrove man pleads guilty to manslaughter in Stockwood

A Hengrove man faces a significant jail term after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Mitchel Thorpe, 28, of Great Hayles Road, appeared at Bristol Crown Court and admitted killing 45-year-old Craig Parker in Stockwood on March 25 last year.

Also at the hearing was Sophie George, 23, also of Great Hayles Road.

She pleaded guilty to intending to pervert the course of justice by giving police a false alibi for Thorpe between March 26 and 28.

Ramin Pakrooh, defending Thorpe, asked for a pre-sentence report for his client.

Sam Jones, defending George, made the same application.

Judge William Hart granted the requests and adjourned sentence on the pair until February 15.

He remanded Thorpe in custody and handed George bail.

The judge told Thorpe: "You are bound to receive a significant custodial sentence."
