Henderson and Van de Beek start - Manchester United line up fans want to see vs Brighton

Manchester United fans want to see Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson start tonight's Carabao Cup clash against Brighton.

United faced the Seagulls last weekend in the Premier League, winning in dramatic fashion late into injury time thanks to a penalty from Bruno Fernandes.

Brighton hit the woodwork five times and United's performance did little to appease supporters who were concerned following the opening day defeat against Crystal Palace.

With a crucial game against Jose Mourinho's Tottenham on the weekend, expect Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make changes to his side.

MEN Sport writers picked their starting XI for the game and United fans have had their say too.

Henderson made his United debut in the previous round of the competition against Luton and fans believe he should be given another opportunity to impress with David de Gea dropping out.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka returned in the league fixture against Brighton but fans want Timothy Fosu-Mensah to replace him at right-back. Next to him, supporters want to see Eric Bailly replace Victor Lindelof next to Harry Maguire. Brandon Williams is preferred to Luke Shaw at left-back.

In midfield, there is no room for either Fernandes or Paul Pogba. Supporters are keen to see Van de Beek showcase his talents in the centre of the pitch alongside Scott McTominay and Fred. Pogba, in particular, has looked short of match fitness and it could be a welcome opportunity to rest the Frenchman ahead of the Spurs game.

Finally, United fans want to see Mason Greenwood from the start despite Solskjaer stressing that his game time must be carefully managed this season. Odion Ighalo was sluggish against Luton and will hope to return to form. Daniel James - who is wanted by Leeds United - is also selected to start.

Manchester United fans XI vs Brighton: Henderson; Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Maguire, Williams; Fred, McTominay, Van de Beek; Greenwood, James, Ighalo.
