Henbury Aldi to close for a month while store is extended

An Aldi supermarket in Bristol will close for a month later this year.

The German retailer's store in Crow Lane in Henbury will close at 4pm on Sunday, March 8 and reopen at 8am on Thursday, April 9, just in time for Easter weekend.

A spokesperson said the store said it would be closed for a month as it is undergoing an extension.

Plans to expand the store were submitted to Bristol City Council’s planning department in 2019.

The budget retailer wanted to increase the retail area from 989sqm to 1,315sqm at the store.

It was also proposed to extend the store by approximately six metres to the southwest, towards the public footpath.

The car park at the store has already been expanded from 100 spaces to 114.
