Helpless parents watch via Ring app as daughter held at gunpoint in home invasion

Two parents were forced to watch on in horror as their daughter was held at gunpoint during a home invasion.

The terrifying incident was caught on the Ring doorbell camera of family in Pasadena, in the US state of Texas, and showed at least two masked figures storm through the house with weapons.

In the video, taken on April 20, one young girl can be seen lying face down on the living room floor alongside a male friend.

As one of the masked invaders waves an assault rifle above her head, she can be heard saying "oh my god" repeatedly.

A second girl, believed to be a relative of the daughter, is pulled to her feet by one of the men and pushed towards the door leading to the bedroom.

"Get up, get up, let's go," one of the intruders says while holding a gun to her back.

The parents watched on helplessly through their Ring mobile app, unable to intervene.

"My husband and I were not home and I cannot tell you what I felt seeing this on my Ring app in real-time and not being able to help them," the mother wrote on Facebook.

"It was hard for us to watch as it was happening."

In the footage the dad tries to deter the invaders by shouting "Hey, who's in my house?" through the camera's microphone.

The intervention causes one of the gunman to look up from the hostages for a moment.

"I got you on camera!" the dad continues to yell, before the mother adds: "The cops are on the way."

"My neighbours are there, they're calling the cops right now! Y'all better get out of my house."

A short while after the second girl emerges from the room she was pushed into earlier and is then thrown to the ground by one of the men.

The duo then flee carrying stolen possessions.

Pasadena Police department have speculated that it was a targeted attack "by known suspects of the victims".

In her initial post, the mother voiced suspicion that the girl led away by the home-invaders was an accomplice.

She later clarified that she was her niece and that the home-invaders had taken advantage of her to force entry into the house.

"The girl in the video is my husband's niece, she told my daughter she needed her clothes from my garage," the mum wrote.

"After she came in the two guys rushed my daughter with guns and told her to go inside where I was able to capture it on my ring app."

The mum said she posted the video to Facebook in a bid to get the invaders brought to justice.

"My husband and I were not home and I cannot tell you what I felt seeing this on my ring app in real time and not being able to help them," she continued.

"I would like these people off the streets so they don’t do this to anyone else."
