Sanrio Puroland, an indoor Hello Kitty theme park in Tama, Tokyo, has reopened its doors Monday after being closed since February 22 due to the coronavirus. A mask-clad Hello Kitty waved to visitors while staff members gave an enthusiastic "Welcome home!"
To curb the risk of infection, only those holding a reserved entry ticket may enter and must have their temperatures checked. Everyone must also apply hand sanitizer before entering the park. Social distancing between visitors will also be maintained to avoid any crowd from forming.
"I was really looking forward to [the park's] reopening," said one visitor who brought along her five-year-old son. "I want us to enjoy ourselves while taking care to avoid infection."
