Leamington Spa fire: Helicopters, explosions and evacuations as massive fire breaks out

Fire crews are battling a huge blaze that has produced thick plumes of smoke.

Emergency services are dealing with the fire on an industrial property in Leamington.

Police have been evacuating buildings in the area and there are reports of people being seen being sick near the scene.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were working with police to evacuate properties in the area.

They said: "If you live within 70 metres of the site, please keep windows and doors closed."

One witness said: "Huge fire in Leamington Spa, getting bigger by the minute. Helicopters circling and hearing explosions now. Praying nobody is hurt."

Matt Western, Labour MP for Warwick and Leamington, said: "Massive fire on Tachbrook Ind Est. Extremely serious. Hearing it may involve chemicals from plastics business unit. Please close windows and stay indoors."
