Helicopter search in Walton for wanted man

A widespread police search was launched in the Walton area after a wanted man was spotted.

Officers were alerted after the potential sighting by the post office in County Road this afternoon.

The police helicopter was deployed and patrols were also sent to carry out a thorough search of the area.

A spokesperson said: "Someone was sighted who was potentially wanted for offences.

"A search was carried out but he made good his escape and no trace was found."

A video taken by an ECHO reader captured the helicopter overhead while the search was going on.
