Helicopter rushes patient to Dublin hospital in urgent medical emergency

A helicopter was forced to rush a patient to a Dublin hospital on Saturday during an urgent medical emergency.

The hardworking Kilbarrack D Watch provided fire cover for the Irish Coast Guard helicopter yesterday evening which landed with a patient for Beaumont Hospital.

A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Emergency fire cover for emergency medical helicopter operations is a regular duty for our crews."

This comes just days after heroic members from DFB and Civil Defence Forces rescued a person from the River Liffey.

The brave workers rushed to the scene when the alarm was raised on Thursday morning after multiple 999 calls from members of the public.

The person was taken from the River Liffey at Heuston Station as the hardworking crew jumped into the water.

The crew fought tirelessly to keep the person afloat until the shallow water jet boat arrived bringing them all to safety.
