Helicopter rescue after teenager seriously injured in fall from cliffs on Fife shore

A teenager was airlifted to hospital after falling from cliffs on the Fife shoreline.

A 17-year-old reportedly fell from the rocks at Hawkcraig Point in Aberdour shortly before noon.

The incident led to a large response from the emergency services with several coastguard rescue teams called out, along with police and paramedics.

The injured person was brought to the top of the cliffs with the help of the coastguard teams before being transferred to the helicopter crew.

The teenager is understood to have been seriously injured.

A spokeswoman for the coastguard said: "We tasked lifeboats and the helicopter to reports of a person falling off the cliff at Hawkcraig Point.

"The casualty was recovered to the cliff top then transferred to the helicopter."
