Helicopter over River Clyde as emergency services rush to rescue man in water

A man has been pulled out of the water after jumping into the River Clyde in Glasgow.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident after being called to reports of a person entering the water near the Kingston Bridge around 7pm this evening.

Cops, ambulance and fire crews were deployed to both sides of the river on Broomielaw and on Clyde Place near the Springfield Quay.

A police helicopter was also seen circling the area.

The man was taken to hospital, but it is unclear what condition he is in at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "About 7pm this evening, we received a report of man having jumped into the River Clyde near to the Kingston Bridge.

"Multi-agency crews were initiated and the male has been recovered by the Scottish Fire and Rescue."
