Helicopter crashes in a field with two people on board

A helicopter has crashed in a field with two people on board.

Emergency services were sent to the scene in Herefordshire after the incident happened at around 3pm today, Friday, April 2.

Police and ambulance crews are in attendance in a field off Bromyard Road in Ledbury, Birmingham Live reports.

The location of the incident is around 12 miles outside Hereford and 14 miles outside Worcester.

West Mercia Police said in a statement: "Around 3pm this afternoon (Friday 2 April) we were informed a helicopter had crashed in a field off Bromyard Road in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

"Emergency services are currently at the scene.

"Two people were on board the helicopter and while the extent of injuries is not yet known, they are not believed to be serious."

According to the Malvern Gazette, police have received a number of calls from members of the public about the incident.

Details about the type of helicopter involved or what might have caused the incident are not yet known.
