Helicopter and police dogs search for missing 70-year-old in pyjamas who likes to walk coast path

A police helicopter is involved in a search for a missing 70-year-old man from Pembrokeshire.

Reginald Davies was reported missing from his home in Newport shortly after 9.30am on Friday morning.

Police said they were “concerned for his welfare” after he is believed to have gone missing overnight.

The National Police Air Service helicopter has been deployed in the Parrog area of Newport, which sits right on the Pembrokeshire coast.

Mr Davies is known to frequent the coastal path in the area.

Police dogs are also at the scene as the search continues on Friday afternoon.

Mr Davies is described as being approximately 5ft 6ins tall, of slight build, with short black hair and glasses. It is thought that he could be wearing pyjamas and a blue anorak.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are concerned for the welfare of 70-year-old Reginald Davies, who is missing from Newport, Pembrokeshire.

“He is known to frequent the coastal path and the Parrog areas of Newport.

“He does not have access to a car, so is likely to be on foot.”

Anyone who has seen Mr Davies who knows where he is is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101.
