A school drama production team is celebrating a sell-out three-day run after 500 guests marvelled in their performance of the Addams Family.
Lomond School pupils from S3 to S6 took part in a musical adaption of Charles Addams’ hit play, performed in the school’s St Brides Hall between November 14 and 16.
The school’s take on the gothic classic saw daughter Wednesday Addams fall in love with a ‘normal’ boy – much to the bemusement of her father, Gomez.
Despite his suspicions, Gomez promises to keep the boy a secret from her mother Morticia, until all is revealed when Wednesday decides to bring both families together over dinner.
Johanna Urquhart, principal of the Helensburgh school said she was proud of all the pupils who took part in the “fantastic” production.
She said: “Every year, the standard of the school production leaves us in awe and this year was no exception.
“It was a fantastic show and I’m really proud of everyone who took part.
“One of the more rewarding aspects of productions like this is to see pupils from outside the drama department getting involved, as the school comes together to create the overall production.”
She added: “Our young people in S2 to S6 really pulled out all the stops- from the leading cast members to those behind the scenes.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who made this production possible and of course a special thank you to Ms Gibbs and Mr Fleming.
Ruby Cathro (S3) landed the lead role of Wednesday Addams, with her mischievous brother Pugsley portrayed by Aveline Twaddle (S2) and Caragh Hird (S3).
Matthew Lambert (S6) brought the devoted Latin father Gomez to life on stage while his partner Morticia was played by Sophie Morrison (S5).
The zombie butler of few words was performed by Matthew Everest (S6) and Dylan Krezdrorn (S6).
Louis Page (S5) took on the role of Wednesday’s love interest Lucas Beineke, with his “normal” parents Mal and Alice played by Ryan Cosgrove-Clark (S6) and Lucy McLean (S4).
Charlie Grover (S4) graced the stage as the loveable Uncle Fester and the “gruesome” grandma part was shared by Grace Mortlock (S2) and Olivia Perry (S5).
The school production was complete with the chorus as dead ancestors, and the school band provided the accompaniment.
