The star is up for best supporting actress playing Princess Margaret in Netflix ’s The Crown.
And Helena, 54, said: “Don’t even ask what I am going to wear.
“Maybe I won’t wear anything – that is all. I will just have my head on and cause a sensation.”
Mimicking an interview, Helena added: “What are you wearing? Me!”
It wouldn’t be the first time the actress has flashed the flesh.
She once posed naked with a huge tuna to highlight the effect overfishing has on oceans.
Helena will be attending tonight’s Emmys virtually by beaming in from her UK home rather than going to the Los Angeles Staples Center.
British favourites such as royal drama The Crown and Killing Eve lead the 72nd Emmy Award nominations.
The Crown has a slew of nominations, including potential wins for lead actress Olivia Colman, 46. Killing Eve picked up nods for stars Sandra Oh, 49, and Jodie Comer, 27.
