As part of WA Focus, a new annual program which displays the works of Western Australian artists, the Art Gallery of Western Australia presents works by Helen Smith.
Smith’s practice spans painting, photography and site-specific installation. Her work reflects her interest in social and cultural systems. Her paintings and photographs, created between 2000 and 2014, will be presented together for the first time. They display the subtle inter-relationship of the two mediums of her practice, along with some new paintings she has developed for the exhibition.
