Helen Skelton shows reality of 'ruining her kids' lives' after saying 'no words needed' with Gemma Atkinson support

Helen Skelton has joked she is 'ruining her kids' lives as she shared the reality of motherhood with her followers. It came after the Countryfile host took to Instagram over the weekend and said there were 'no words needed' as she marked Mother's Day.

The mum-of-three, who made it all the way to the final of Strictly Come Dancing at the end of last year with Gorka Marquez, took to Instagram with an image of herself during the BBC One show's live arena tour earlier this year with her children - Ernie, Louis, and Elsie Kate - as well as her mum, Janet.

The black and white snap showed the group in the empty arena with some of the Strictly Live set up just on show behind them. "Happy Mother's Day. No words needed," Helen captioned the post with a red heart.

Gemma Atkinson, who is engaged to Gorka and became good friends with Helen during their months of dancing together, was quick to respond to the post, writing: "Dream team," to which Helen kindly replied: "takes one to know one."

Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse also responded in the comments section, simply posting a string of red hearts, as did Strictly 2022 winner Jowita Przystal. And fans were also quick to flood the post with kind comments for Helen, who announced last April that she had split from her husband Richie Myler, months after the birth of their daughter.

@carolynnewilley said: "An awesome mummy doing an awesome job for your babies. Happy Mother’s Day sweetheart." @coyne3900 wrote: "Lucky children to have such a wonderful mummy." @_emmap replied: "You are a super mum. Hope you had a lovely day." @leighhayward996 added: "Lucky children to have a mum like you."

But Helen, 39, was also keen to show the reality of life as a mum and took to her Instagram Story with two different pictures telling two very different stories.

The second image Helen shared was very different to the first (Helen Skelton Instagram)

The first showed Helen cuddled up to her son alongside which she wrote: "Insta..." the follow-up image then showed the youngster sat on an outside floor, appearing to not want to move. "Reality..." the former Blue Peter host typed.

"When you're 'ruining their life' because of the way you tie a trainer lace. All part of the adventure we get to call parenting," she added alongside a string of hearts, crying laughing and mind blown emojis.
