Strictly's Helen Skelton shares behind-the-scenes glimpse as stars film first episode

Helen Skelton has delighted exciting Strictly Come Dancing fans with a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from the upcoming series.

Countryfile star Helen, 39, joins Kym Marsh, Will Mellor, Fleur East and many more as they show off their dancing skills in a bid to win the Glitterball trophy.

Although the star-studded line-up has been announced both the celebrities and Strictly fans were yet to discover which professional dancer will be paired with which star... until now.

The celebrities gathered on Wednesday at the iconic Strictly set to pre-record this year's first episode, which sees the stars discover who they will be dancing with.

However, viewers will have to wait slightly longer to find out this year's matches as the episode doesn't air until Saturday September 17.

As Helen, who's secret Corrie stint was recently revealed, gathered with the stars she smiled as she posed for selfies with the Strictly 2022 cast in a sequence of snaps which she edited into a montage and added the song Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen on top.

In the first photo Countryfile star Helen is grinning as she holds a slice of pizza and puts her arm around comedian Ellie Taylor, who is also competing for the Glitterball trophy this year.

The second snap shows some of the stars including James Bye, Ellie Simmons and Kaye Adams posing on the iconic Strictly steps as they get ready to rehearse.

In more snaps Helen pulls a funny face while posing alongside Kym Marsh and is later seen getting her makeup done ahead of filming.

Another group selfie shows Helen smiling while sat in the back of a car with Matt Goss, Kaye Adams, Fleur East and Jayde Adams.

The star then turns her attention to the glamorous Strictly set as she sits in the audience and takes a photo of the crew in action.

While the rest of the montage is filled with smiling group shots of the excited Strictly cast of 2022.

As she shared the collection of pictures, an excited Helen gushed in the caption: "Totally understand why people rave about being part of this show in the way they do….

"Smiles and laughter are infectious.

"Very grateful to be part of the class of “22” still in awe this is technically work. For however long it lasts I have already made memories to last a life time."

Helen isn't the only Strictly star to tease the upcoming series ahead of its release. Judge Motsi Mabuse has said this series will be the most "brilliant" ever.

Speaking to hosts Ronan Keating and Alex Jones on The One Show, she said: "It's going to be bigger and better, it’s exciting. We have the most fantastic professionals, I saw them rehearse, I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

"And everything is coming back, Blackpool is coming back, and some celebrations, so it’s going to be brilliant, I can’t wait – the audience is coming back, and I’ll see my judge friends."

Motsi, 41, is returning as judge alongside Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and new permanent judge Anton du Beke, who replaced Bruno Tonioli.

While professional dancers, who posed for new official snaps ahead of the launch, including Johannes Radebe, Amy Dowden, Giovanni Pernice and Katya Jones all returning alongside some new faces as new professionals, Michelle Tsiakkas, Lauren Oakley, Vito Coppola and Carlos Gu, join the series.
