Helen's Bay train tickets suspended by Translink due to demand

Translink has suspended ticket sales for those travelling to Helen's Bay on Saturday.

It comes as the good weather is attracting hundreds to our local beaches, with Helen's Bay being a popular hotspot for families and friends.

In a statement issues this afternoon, a Translink spokesperson said: "Due to high numbers, there will be no further tickets issued for passengers travelling to Helen's Bay for the rest of the day."

Bus and train services are expected to be busy on Saturday and Sunday, as the weather forecast looks warm and sunny.

NI Railways said coastal areas will be the most popular.

They added: "Bus and train services are expected to be busy today, especially those operating to Coastal areas of Newcastle, Bangor and Portrush.

"Please allow extra time for your journey and be prepared to wait for the next service."
