Helen Flanagan turns day around following tearful start after declaring love for famous face who inspired change

Helen Flanagan appeared to successfully turn her daughter's day around after things got off to a very tearful start. The former Coronation Street star took to Instagram to mark her eldest child Matilda's eighth birthday.

However, youngest sister Delilah wasn't quite impressed with it being her older sibling's special day as many parents would expect from a five-year-old who recently celebrated her own birthday.

"When Delilah realised today was Matilda's birthday," Helen typed alongside a skull and string of crying laughing emojis as she shared a video of her little girl in tears as it appeared the birthday girl was trying to console her. "She has a very bad day yesterday as it was Matilda's party. Now, today," she added with another crying laughing emoji.

But by the evening, it appeared the tears had stopped as Helen glammed up for a special birthday night out with her firstborn. The 32-year-old could be seen dancing in her kitchen with her pal and stylist Kelvin Barron and looked stunning while doing so in a white based dress which had been adorned with blue floral patterns.

She then got the birthday girl in the act who looked beautiful in a white princess-inspired dress with a sparkling headband as she prepared to celebrate her day with her mum. "Birthday baby," Helen typed alongside the clip shared with her millions of followers.

Helen, who is famed for having played Rosie Webster in ITV's Corrie, also got Delilah and Charlie involved as she picked up her son for a little dance while Helen's pal, who helps her with her children, made sure Delilah was finally getting involved in the fun after her earlier upset. "Fun madhouse," she typed with a red heart.

She has since shared that she and Matilda headed to celebrate her birthday at Manchester's celebrity haunt, Menagerie. Matilda was seen enjoying herself in the Instagram-ready bathtub surrounded by gold and pink balloons. "Birthday girl @menagerie_restaraunt," Helen typed alongside the sweet snap.

It comes days after Helen shared how she "misses" Carol Vorderman after the pair bonded in the I'm A Celebrity... South Africa camp. Helen and Carol were amongst the returning stars taking part in the ITV reality show's spin-off which aired in April after being filmed back in September last year.

The pair have since shared how they are still pals and Helen previously said that former Countdown star Carol was a "mother figure" to her as she navigated a new chapter in her life after she split from her footballer fiance Scott Sinclair, with whom she shares her three children, just two months before filming the show.

And it appears Carol has inspired Helen in other ways too. Speaking on her Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon (June 28), Helen shared that she was obsessed with a swap she had made in her diet. "When I was in the jungle with Carol Vorderman, she told me that she never ate bread and she just used to have Ryvita all the time," Helen revealed.

Letting fans in on what she was having for lunch, the former Coronation Street actress showed off a plate of crackers and a plate of mashed avocado and balsamic vinegar. "So, when I came back, like end of September, I'm addicted to eating this. This is what I eat, like, all the time at home, just avocado and Ryvita. I miss you so much, Carol," she said before tagging Carol in the post and writing: "@carolvorders love you."
