Helen Flanagan reveals the effect of hayfever on her appearance

Helen Flanagan looked glorious in makeup-free snaps shared on her social media and the TV beauty has opened up about the story behind the pictures.

The Coronation Street actress went bare-faced in photos and video of herself posted on Instagram.

As compliments came flooding in over the mother-of-three's natural beauty, the 30-year-old star told why she'd shunned her makeup bag.

"Always got bald eyeballs in the summer," she wrote with a laughing emoji as she posed with her youngest daughter Delilah, three.

And she explained with the hashtag: "#hayfever."

Hayfever, also called allergic rhinitis, causes symptoms including itchy eyes, a runny nose, congestion and sneezing.

There's no cure unfortunately but the NHS advises that you can do things to ease your symptoms when the pollen count is high such as putting Vaseline around the nostrils to trap the pollen, wearing wraparound sunglasses, showering and changing clothes after going outside to wash pollen off, staying indoors whenever possible, keeping windows and doors shut as much as possible and vacuuming regularly and dusting with a damp cloth.

"My god you look bloody glorious Helen," said one follower next to a fresh-faced clip of Helen looking bronzed with her blonde hair piled high in a bun in a white vest top.

"You look beautiful," complimented another.

"What a babe," wrote another fan.

"So beautiful a natural beauty," another praised.

Helen, who promises 'no retouching on my images' on her social media, is known for her down-to-earth posts.

Earlier this month she won praise after sharing a snap of herself breastfeeding her baby boy Charlie.

"Love this picture of feeding my baby boy," she wrote.

"Feeding your baby is the most natural thing and so precious."

Helen, who plays Rosie Webster in Coronation Street, welcomed Charlie in March with her footballer fiancé Scott Sinclair.

They also have a six-year-old daughter Matilda.

The soap star left the famous Corrie cobbles to go on maternity leave with Delilah.

Helen and Scott got engaged during a family trip to Disneyland Paris in May 2018 and they welcomed Delilah the following month.

Her character Rosie left Weatherfield for a new life after managing to overturn a drug lord in a bust at the Underworld factory.
