Helen Flanagan reveals near romance with TOWIE's James Argent as she recalls moment of 'heat' between them in bed

Helen Flanagan has opened up about a ”moment of heat" in bed with TOWIE star James Argent during a break from filming a reality TV show.

The ex-Coronation Street actress, 35, shared an anecdote of what happened between her and James in her memoir Head & Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie.

The pair took part in 2013 series Celebrity Super Spa alongside TV chefs Rusty Lee and John Burton-Race, Shameless actor Jody Latham and Most Haunted's Yvette Fielding.

Viewers quickly picked up on Helen and James' closeness on the show, with rumours soon spreading of a burgeoning romance, Mail Online reports.

In her memoir, Helen reveals she liked James "a lot" and things finally came to a head during a "weird" moment in a hotel room when they almost became intimate.

She wrote: "I was too mixed up over Scott and I didn't even know if I actually fancied Arg although I did like him a lot.

"He definitely wasn't my usual type - I usually went for sporty guys who were into their health and fitness whereas Arg would eat four Greggs sausage rolls for breakfast. I think he was probably more into me than I was him, but there was a brief moment of heat between us which felt… weird.

"We were in my hotel room, lying on the bed while he was stroking my back – I think it could have spilled over then, but there was something holding me back. And when that moment passed, it was like it was done."

The TV actress added she thought that the show's producers were looking for a romance to blossom and tried to set some sparks without success.

In another part of her autobiography, Helen described "confusion" over her sexuality when filming Celebs Go Dating.

Helen said she opened up about her feelings on the show but later asked the show's runners to delete the footage, saying she worried her mother "would be let down" hearing the details on TV.

Recalling the events in 2024, she wrote: "The thought of this footage going out on national telly got me really depressed, like I’d massively let her down as a daughter.

"Thankfully, the producers at the show were understanding and they agreed to edit those scenes alongside me, something they did with great care, removing the parts completely where I opened up about my sexuality."
