Helen Flanagan praised by midwife as a 'lovely role model' for openly promoting breastfeeding

Helen Flanagan has been hailed an inspiration after posting openly about breastfeeding on social media.

The Coronation Street star was applauded by a midwife on Instagram after sharing about her journey as a mum to three children.

Helen, 30, from Bury, was told she's a 'lovely role model' after Instagramming an adorable snap herself with her baby on Charlie from her first night out after giving birth.

The Rosie Webster actress was told: "You are an inspiration, as a midwife myself it’s amazing to watch you promote breastfeeding so openly, especially when you have other young children to care for too.

"You show women that it can be done and you honestly make it look easy! What a lovely role model you are!

"I love watching your updates on your beautiful family xx"

Helen previously revealed her multi-tasking skills, saying that she completed the housework while breastfeeding her newborn son.

She posed for a smiling selfie while breastfeeding her son with the little one in a baby carrier.

Helen captioned the post: "Breastfeeding while doing house jobs. I wish I washed my hair."

The actress explained that she'd used cabbage leaves in a bid to relieve pain because they are a common home remedy during breast feeding due to anti-inflammatory properties.

Helen explained: "I've got tea on, Charlie's on the baby carrier, he's had a feed.

"I've had to put a cabbage leaf in my bra."

In 2018 she a super-sweet photo of herself breastfeeding daughter Delilah when her baby was five days old in Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow when her Preston footballer fiance Scott Sinclair played for Scottish team Celtic.

Last week Helen delighted fans with a transformation video featuring Charlie as she got ready for her night out.

She posted a fun video on her Instagram showing her holding baby Charlie wearing slouchy loungewear, her hair pulled back into a messy bun. Fans also spotted that she was sporting baby drool on her shoulder.

The video then quickly switched to an 'after' clip of the star beaming in a pretty green and white floral print dress, her blonde tresses styled into loose waves.

"Mamas first night out," she wrote alongside the video as the compliments came flooding in.

"Glam," she added.

"Yummy mummy," commented another fan.

Coronation Street favourite Helen was two days overdue when she welcomed her third child at the Royal Bolton Hospital.

Helen and Scott also have two daughters Matilda, six, and Delilah, two.

She recently spoke frankly about the changes in her body since giving birth, writing: "Carrying a baby is such a miracle.

"I haven’t really done any exercise since having Charlie apart from my pelvic floor exercises and enjoying walks with the baby carrier or pram and obviously running around after the two girls.

"My body has changed with each baby. My boobs have changed a lot with nursing each.

"The skin on my stomach has changed but I feel so lucky to able to have carried my babies."
