Helen Flanagan on how her daughter made her feel 'awful' over lockdown restrictions

Coronation Street favourite Helen Flanagan has opened up about the difficulties of dealing with lockdown with young children.

Helen, who plays Rosie Webster in Corrie, told how she had a difficult time with daughter Matilda after stopping her from playing with another child because of social distancing measures during the coronavirus pandemic.

The soap star from Bury says she felt 'awful' when her eldest child scolded her for telling her she couldn't play.

"Today with Matilda was a little bit difficult," she told her followers in a video shared on Instagram.

She explained that while she was changing her youngest daughter Delilah's nappy, Matilda made a beeline for another little girl.

"Matilda sees this little girl and runs over to her and wants to play with her," she said.

"But it was really hard because of social distancing."

She added: "Everyone misses everyone. I obviously miss my friends.

"I haven't seen any of my friends since lockdown.

"I miss my family, I miss my nana."

Helen, 29, added: "She didn't understand.

"I was like 'no darling come we've got to social distance, mummy said about the naughty virus.'

"I felt really sorry for her."

Matilda is four and Helen welcomed her second child with Preston North End footballer Scott Sinclair in June 2018.

With a sigh doting mum Helen added about the experience: "She wasn't happy with me.

"She was like 'you were naughty mummy, I have no friends.'

"Honestly, it made me fell awful, it's so hard. I literally didn't know what to do."

Earlier this month Helen revealed her car broke down on the motorway while delivering PPE for the NHS.

The actress told fans that she was on her way with the personal protective equipment when her journey came to an abrupt stop.

Helen documented the experience in a video shared on her Instagram Stories while she waited for the AA to arrive.

She later updated her followers to say the AA had come to her aid, and they were going above and beyond by taking the delivery for her.
