Helen Flanagan admits she 'hates' being alone with her thoughts and 'always' needs people around her

Helen Flanagan has opened up to her social media followers on Wednesday, admitting that she "hates" being alone with her thoughts and has the constant need to be around friends or her kids. It comes as the Coronation Street star became a newly-single mum after calling off her engagement to ex-Celtic player Scott Sinclair.

The couple "hit a rough patch in the summer" of 2022 and split. The celeb pair, who had been together 13 years, share three kids together - Matilda, seven, Charlie two, and Delilah four.

Helen wrote on her Instagram: "I'm really bad at being on my own, anyone relate to this? I constantly have to have my friends with me or be with my kids. I can't just sit there with me and my own thoughts."

She later shared a cryptic quote on her Instagram story, which read: "Strong women never give up. We might need a coffee, a cry, or a day in bed, but we always come back stronger."

There had been rumours Helen and her ex Scott had reconciled their romance over the past few months, but the 32-year-old put the rumours to bed following advice from her pal Carol Vorderman, whom she will star alongside in I'm A Celebrity All-Stars later this month.

Eagle-eyed fans were convinced the couple could have rekindled things after the pair enjoyed a lavish holiday to Dubai with their three children and she was spotted wearing a ring on her finger again. But Helen was reportedly persuaded against getting back together with Scott after receiving dating advice from her celeb pal.

Former Countdown host Carol, 62, has discussed her 'five special friends' as she enjoys a very independent life. A source told The Sun: "Helen was at a crossroads in her relationship when she went into the jungle this time around.

"Carol became a kind of mother figure to the other campmates and Helen found herself opening up to her. She told Helen to follow her heart and put her children first.

"She advised that staying with someone just for the kids never works out," the source added. "Of course, they've got the kids and a huge history only time will tell if it's over for good."
