Heinz launches Tomato Blood Ketchup for Halloween

This Halloween season, you’ll likely be dousing yourself in ketchup to get that extra bloody effect.

Stop. Set that regular catsup down, and pick up a bottle of Heinz Tomato Blood Ketchup.

This year, Heinz is leaning into its popularity as a sticky substitute for regular old costume blood by giving select 20-ounce bottles ($2.99) a sanguine makeover – “for 57 blood types.” (The ingredients inside remain the same.)

“We believe that if you have Heinz, you have a costume! This Halloween is no different and we’re looking forward to seeing the deliciously spooky looks people come up with using Heinz Tomato Blood Ketchup,” Heinz brand director Ashleigh Gibson said last week in a press release.

Not enough? Purchase the Heinz Tomato Blood Ketchup Costume Kit, which comes with that ketchup bottle plus makeup, brushes and vampire teeth, for $19.99 at heinzhalloween.com. Starting Oct. 21, Los Angeles ghouls can get bloody at the first-ever Heinz Halloween store at Santa Monica Place. The store will have interactive “drip stations” to decorate costumes.

The Blood Ketchup bottles were unleashed on the world Oct. 12. Do note that it is a limited item, so when it’s gone, it’s bloody gone!
