It’s a question that divides the nation: are baked beans or spaghetti hoops tops on toast?
But there’s no longer any need to choose between the two if they back Heinz’s plan to combine them in a single can.
To mark National Toast Day the firm is holding a Twitter vote this morning on whether it should unleash “Boopz” in supermarkets or can the idea forever.
Heinz said: “We are giving the great British public the chance to vote on bringing one of its craziest mash-up combinations ever to life.”
Other Heinz combos include mayo and ketchup in Saucy Sauce, tomato sauce-filled chocolates, and Mayocue – a mayo and barbecue sauce on sale in the US.
Last month Heinz announced it was getting rid of plastic wrapping on its multipacks of baked beans in the war against pollution.
The food giant is also ditching shrink wrap packaging from spaghetti and soup and will sell just single tins.
Kraft Heinz Northern Europe president Georgiana de Noronha said: “While we know we have more to do, this initiative is good news for the environment, and for the millions of people who enjoy Heinz varieties, as they’ll still be able to benefit from the same value for money multipacks provide.”
