Heinz changes name of its tomato ketchup - and it's all because of Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran has long been a vocal fan of Heinz - and even has the brand's logo tattooed on his arm.

So now the famous condiment brand has paired up with the famous singer and life-long Heinz Tomato Ketchup superfan to create a special edition bottle.

Paying tribute back to Ed, Heinz has changed its name to Edchup for the time being, as well as featuring a special Ed inspired tomato icon on every bottle of the new Heinz Tomato ‘Edchup’.

Set to launch in supermarkets all over the country later on this month, including the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Asda , the new design is all due to the brand's 150th anniversary.

The Heinz Tomato Edchup has been created to celebrate Heinz' milestone, who chose to pair with Ed Sheeran following multiple social media posts from the singer extolling his love for the beloved British sauce.

For Heinz and Ed Sheeran superfans, you can also take things one step further, by getting your hands on one of the first 150 bottles that go on sale globally.

Ed’s favourite three takeaways in his home town of Framlingham, in Suffolk, England will get the first batch of new edition bottles, with150 bottles expected to fly off the shelves of Rumbles Fish Bar, Zorbas, and Pizza and Grill after they land today (5th June).
