Heidi Klum compares anxiety over new single with Snoop Dogg to nude modelling poses
Heidi Klum has shared her anxiety about releasing her new single – a collaboration with Snoop Dogg that samples a classic Sir Rod Stewart song.
The 48-year-old supermodel is swapping the catwalk for the music charts by segwaying into a pop career with her song, titled Chai Tea With Heidi.
The dance track is her first music release in over 15 years – after she released a song called Wonderland way back in November 2006 which was the soundtrack for fashion adverts in Germany.
Heidi says showcasing her vocals is more nerve-racking that stripping off for the cameras as she has done over the years as part of her life as a model.
Discussing her new music with The Sun, Heidi explained: “I’ve done a bit of singing before — on America’s Got Talent and once in the past with my ex-husband at a show, but putting out my own single is totally out of my comfort zone.
“It started as a theme tune for my show, Germany’s Next Top Model, but once we got Snoop Dogg involved and pulled it together we thought, ‘Why not put it out properly’ — I just love Snoop, I’m a huge fan so I couldn’t be more excited.”
She also highlighted her nerves, adding: “I’ve obviously done lots of performances on catwalks, I’ve shown off my body and done shoots without my clothes on, but this is probably the most daunting thing.”

Heidi’s song samples the 1983 song Baby Jane by Sir Rod Stewart, and the model recorded the track without getting Sir Rod\s permission first.
She then frantically tried to contact the musician to get his permission for the feature.
Heidi’s anxiety intensified when, after getting the music legend’s email address from a mutual friend, she didn’t hear back from him – leaving her fearing her single would have to be cancelled.
But then she checked her junk mail to discover: “he said it sounded like lots of fun and sent a thumbs- up. It was a huge relief.”
Heidi previously lent her vocals to a song by ex-husband Seal back in the days when they were married.
She sang on a song called Wedding Day, duetting with her now ex-husband – with the song itself written by the British singer to celebrate their 2005 wedding.
Heidi and Seal – whose real name is Henry Samuel – tied-the-knot in 2004 but divorced in 2014.
They share three children together Henry, 16, Johan, 15, and 12-year-old Lou – while Seal also adopted Heidi’s 17-year-old daughter Lent from Heidi’s previous marriage to Ric Pipino, which lasted from 1997 until 2002.
The Making The Cut host is now married to German rock band guitarist Tom Kaulitz, 32, who she wed in 2019.
Addressing the age different between herself and her toy boy husband, Heidi told SheKnows: “A lot of people were, you know, not giving us the positive vibes when we first started dating because I’m 16 years older than him.
"But I feel like, there too, if it feels right when you close your door at home and you know what you have together, I think that is the most important thing.”
