Heidi Klum claims cash

Oh, the problems caused by looking so good that you're wanted to star in advertisements for simply everything. Pity poor Heidi Klum, who had to go to all the trouble of suing an unemployed butcher called Heinz Frank for £2,000. He used her picture to promote a friend's dance in that pivotal city on the map of the fashion world, Chemnitz in eastern Germany, where reputations are made and destroyed on a daily basis.

Says Frank, claiming he didn't recognise her (imagine!): "I just though she looked nice and would be appealing on the advertising leaflet." Which shows that he could, at a push, get a job as a talent scout, so good is his eye for undiscovered beauty.

Fortunately, justice has been done and Frank, who hadn't made a penny from the enterprise, has been ordered to cough up.

This would be a delightful tale of a disgrace put right by the kindly courts, were it not for the confusion brought into the arena by someone described as a "socialite and actress" named Jenny Elvers Elbertzhagen, who has stumped up and - who knows - saved Frank from a downward spiral into despair.

"I read his story and just knew I had to help", she said. "I really do not understand why Heidi Klum has got all heated up over such a trifle."
