Hector Bellerin subject of transfer interest as Arsenal nearly made costly Bukayo Saka mistake

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Friday, June 25.

Gunners nearly made Saka mistake

Freddie Ljungberg has explained how Arsenal nearly made a mistake with Bukayo Saka during his time as manager of the Under-23s.

The former Gunners winger was the man who brought Saka from the U18s to the U23s, but he has now revealed how that so nearly didn't happen.

Ljungberg told the Coaches Voice : "Bukayo did all the work himself, he worked hard, he was a very good professional and when I had the 23s at Arsenal, I said that I was going to take Bukayo to the U23s and I got: 'No, he's playing with the U18s, he's not ready'.

"I said, 'no, there's no chance, if I'm the boss of this team, he's coming to train with me and I'll show he can play'. Sometimes as a coach, you have to have those discussions when people don't agree with you."

Seaman sends Arsenal transfer warning

David Seaman believes Ben White is exactly the type of signing Arsenal should be making at the moment, as the former goalkeeper warned his old club about signing 'marquee players' this summer.

football.london understands that the Gunners are edging closer to completing the deal to sign White despite seeing a £40million bid turned down recently.

Now, Seaman has backed his old club for pursuing the England defender but sent a stark warning to the club's chiefs about this transfer window.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Gunners and England goalkeeper said: "People of that (White's) quality need to be coming to Arsenal.

"I think we're going down that route of players where they have young, promising with careers ahead of them. The days of signing marquee players - that are right on it now - Arsenal will struggle with that as they're not in Europe."

Bellerin wanted by Inter

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan have identified Hector Bellerin as a possible replacement for the outgoing Achraf Hakimi.

Hakimi looks set to join Paris Saint-Germain very soon, according to reports, despite interest from Chelsea and Inter are looking to replace the Morocco international.

As revealed by football.london recently, Bellerin wants to leave the Gunners after over a decade in north London.

The report from Italy says that the Serie A champions have identified Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta, PSV full-back Denzel Dumfries and Arsenal's Bellerin as possible signings this summer.
