Hector Bellerin sends heartfelt message to Unai Emery after Arsenal dismissal

Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin is one of the latest Gunners' players to send a goodbye message to outgoing manager Unai Emery.

The former Arsenal boss was relived of his duties on Friday morning, less than 12 hours after a 2-1 Europa League defeat at the hands of Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

The loss meant that the Gunners are now winless in their last seven games in all competitions, their worst run of results in 27 years.

Arsenal announced the news in a statement on the official website.

"We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Unai Emery and his coaching team," it read.

"Speaking on behalf of the Arsenal board and our owners Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Josh Kroenke said: “Our most sincere thanks go to Unai and his colleagues who were unrelenting in their efforts to get the club back to competing at the level we all expect and demand. We wish Unai and his team nothing but future success.”

"The decision has been taken due to results and performances not being at the level required."

Players including Kieran Tierney, Alexandre Lacazette and Dani Ceballos have since posted messages on social media thanking the Spaniard.

Posting on his Instagram page, Bellerin sent a heartfelt note to his former manager.

"Whatever has happened in these last few weeks, I'm very sad to see @unaiemery_ and his staff go. Thank you so much for your trust and lessons in this time. You've helped me grow as a man through a tough period with my injury. Wish you all the best."

Players will now be preparing for their next Premier League encounter, where former player Freddie Ljungberg will be taking charge as they travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City on Sunday.
